GopherIllustrated.com: What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Gopher staff like you to report at this summer?
Justus Harris: I'm currently 5'10" 175 pounds and I was mainly told to stay in shape during this gap of time so once I get up there I won't miss a beat.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?
JH: I hope to be a big part in helping the team continue its winning ways and being ELITE! Also, developing my game even more to continue playing football on the highest level. Dominate (individuality and team wise)!
GopherIllustrated.com: What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?
JH: I look to work on quickly adapting to the college football style and speed of things.
GopherIllustrated.com: What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Gopher?
JH: I look forward to reeling in wins and championships with my brothers. I also look forward to growing as an individual on and off the field.
GopherIllustrated.com: What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?
JH: I chose Minnesota because I was welcomed with open arms on my visit, not just from a football standpoint, but also from the locals all around campus. I feel very comfortable being there and so does my mom even though it's very far away. I get to compete week by week in a great conference as well, and that's what I know I'm capable of doing.
GopherIllustrated.com: What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?
JH: As a gopher, I'm looking to beat everybody we schedule against. That's the ELITE mindset I will always express.
GopherIllustrated.com: Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?
JH: Once I graduate this may, the time has come.
GopherIllustrated.com: If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?
JH: I see myself helping the youth achieve their goals if I don't make it to the NFL.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is it about Coach Fleck and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?
JH: Coach Fleck is electrifying and reminds me of my former head coach at Roswell. Me and coach Fleck connect really well which makes the comfort part of being her as solid as it can be. The rest of the coaching staff express how excited they are for me to be a part of the family which also brings back the open arms that is expected in a family.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is something you learned about University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?
JH: The only thing that surprised me was the loving support for football when being there.
GopherIllustrated.com: What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?
JH: I expect to play cornerback at Minnesota. That's all I've heard since talking with the staff as well.
GopherIllustrated.com: What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?
JH: They plan on utilizing my cover abilities as they expressed how much they liked it. Also, the fact that I'm not afraid to tackle as well.
GopherIllustrated.com: What player do you model your game after and why?
JH: I find my game to be unique. I can't find a comparison so I do my best to be elite at every aspect that comes with what I have to do.
