GopherIllustrated.com: What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Gopher staff like you to report at this summer?
Demetrius Douglas: I am 6'0" and 175 lbs., and I'm not sure the exact weight they would like me to report at.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?
DD: My goal is to contribute to the team to the best of my abilities. Of course, a team goal would be to win a national championship.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?
DD: I'm looking to get stronger, gain weight and increase my speed this spring.
GopherIllustrated.com: What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Gopher?
DD: I'm looking forward to playing my first game as a Gopher.
GopherIllustrated.com: What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?
DD: I grew up watching the Gophers play football, so it's always been a dream to play for them. This new staff is great, and I believe we will accomplish a lot in these next couple of years.
GopherIllustrated.com: What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?
DD: Of course, I want to beat Wisconsin the most. Growing up in Minnesota, I know how intense the rivalry is.
GopherIllustrated.com: Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?
DD: I'm all set to enroll.
GopherIllustrated.com: If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?
DD: In ten years if the NFL is not an option, I see myself pursuing a career based in the major I study at Minnesota, which is possibly engineering.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is it about Coach Fleck and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?
DD: Coach Fleck and the staff always have a high level of energy, and always push for the best. I believe they will shape me into the best man I can be.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is something you learned about University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?
DD: One new thing I learned about the University of Minnesota was how good their engineering program is. When I went on my official visit, I was able to learn a lot more about it.
GopherIllustrated.com: What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?
DD: Wide receiver, but the staff has also mentioned corner.
GopherIllustrated.com: What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?
DD: The coaches have said that they see my as a potential slot wide receiver for them.
GopherIllustrated.com: Have you had any communication with other Minnesota recruits and if so what?
DD: I have had communication with other recruits, and I was able to get to know a lot of them while on my official visit.
GopherIllustrated.com: What player do you model your game after and why?
DD: I don't necessarily model my game after a specific player, but I analyze a lot of collegiate and pro athletes in order to enhance my own game.
