Georgia defensive lineman Abi Okonji previews his upcoming Minnesota visit with GopherIllustrated.

"I'm leaving for Minnesota tomorrow night and my father is joining me on the trip," Georgia defensive lineman Abi Okonji said to GopherIllustrated. "I've been talking a lot with my recruiting area coach Mo Linguist, my position coach Bryce Paup and head coach P.J. Fleck. Coach Mo's been coming at me hard and letting me know how much they want me and all, and that I'm a priority for the Gophers. Coach Paup and I have talked a few times and I got to talk about the school and what's going on in my life and how much being at Minnesota would benefit me. Finally with coach Fleck, he texts me every morning about the school and how the culture is. I also FaceTimed with him and coach Mo the other day, so things are going good with Minnesota."

"I'd say what I'm looking forward to most is getting to meet the coaches and seeing what Minnesota has to offer," Okonji explained. "Minnesota is my top school so far with Wake Forest and Rutgers right behind them, so I'm trying to see if I could out of the visit with them still on top and if I really see myself playing and living there for three plus years. The Gophers want me as a defensive end so far, but me and coach Paup will get into the details when we meet on Friday. My teammate Terell Smith is committed to Minnesota right now, and he's telling how cool it'll be to play together in college and all we can in Minneapolis. It appeals to me, but I'm also trying to think of it as a lot more than that. We'll see what happens this weekend."
