"I honestly got a chance to do everything while on my Minnesota visit yesterday," Pittsburgh defensive lineman David Green said to GopherIllustrated. "Their campus is amazing and it's a beautiful place, plus their facilities are going to be great as they'll have state of the art technology. I also got a chance to see a little bit of them working out as I didn't get to see much other them warming up, but they didn't have practice yesterday."
"I got a chance to talk with all of the Minnesota coaches yesterday too," Green explained to Scout.com. "Defensive line coach Bryce Paup told me he was very excited to see me and finally get me up there and told me he would really like to coach me. Defensive coordinator Robb Smith said the same thing as well really, and said that he would have such a great fit for me in his defensive and I'll be the perfect fit for his defensive scheme. That was my first time meeting coach P.J. Fleck in person too, and he's the most straight forward man I've ever met or talked to. He told me he wasn't going to persuade or sweet talk his way into me going to Minnesota, but he was just going to tell me what Minnesota and his coaches had to offer. That message hit hard. It really made me think about everything that's going on in my recruiting. Minnesota wants to use me as a pass rusher / three technique defensive tackle in their scheme, and I love it. I love the trenches, so I'm all good with that. My dad really enjoyed the visit too and he really liked what he saw. Minnesota just has a beautiful location to it."
Minnesota made a great first impression for Green.
"I'd say my favorite part of the visit was getting to see TCF Bank Stadium as it was a sight to see," Green said. "The stadium was great and the locker room was perfect. My interest in Minnesota is high now as it's just a great place with great people in it. I'm honestly not sure yet when I'll be making a decision as I still got plans on visiting other places like Virginia Tech on April 15th and Iowa State on May 8th."
