"I toured Minnesota's campus on Friday, went to their Spring game on Saturday and we left around three that afternoon to head back to Nebraska," 2019 Nebraska linebacker Nick Henrich said to GopherIllustrated. "Minnesota's got a beautiful campus, so I'm happy we went up a day early to see everything before the game."
"I'd say the coaches I talked with most at Minnesota were defensive line coach Bryce Paup and then defensive coordinator / linebacker coach Robb Smith too," Henrich explained. "With coach Paup, we talked about his experiences with football and how that transition goes to life after football and what not, which I thought was great. It was nice to learn from a guy with so much football and life experience. With coach Smith, we talked about where he sees me in their defense and the ideal size he'd want me at. He sees me as a Mike linebacker that they'd also move around to rush the passer because he thinks I'm very versatile. I liked his message too and agreed with it. I did have some time to talk with coach P.J. Fleck too, and we talked about the program and their new facilities coming in. I thought the Gophers spring game was great and it had a lot of energy. It was fun to watch. I'd say my favorite part of this weekend's visit was probably just being able to talk with the Gopher coaches some more, as they're a great group of coaches and it was nice learning more about the program. My mom came with me, and she likes Minnesota as well."
Gophers are still sitting in a good spot with the 2019 linebacker.
"After seeing Minnesota a second time now, it's really amazing," Henrich said. "Just the program, the coaching staff and the overall atmosphere there is amazing. Minnesota's very high on my list right now, and I don't have anything else planned as of now."
