I'd been talking with Minnesota for probably about two to three weeks before they actually offered me," Allen (Texas) running back Brock Sturges said to GopherIllustrated. "Before they offered, they'd been telling me that they wanted me to be that guy for them and that they think I'm a Big Ten running back. Coach Mo and Burns came down on the 11th and saw me in person, and then when I spoke on the phone with them later that night, they were like it's a no-brainer that we want to offer you and told me how much they really want me. They just felt like I'm a fit for their offense and the culture up at Minnesota."
"I set a Minnesota visit before they offered, but it'll make it even more exciting when I visit on May 23rd with my father," Sturges explained to Scout.com. "What I know about Minnesota right now is that I believe it's a great school for me to get my degree and I know coach P.J. Fleck and staff are establishing a great culture up in Minneapolis. I'd say what I'll be looking forward to most is just to see that culture that coach Fleck is trying to establish, and I've heard that the facilities are top notch, so I want to see them for myself. Minnesota's location from home for me isn't a big deal, as if it feels like home when I'm there, then distance doesn't matter. I'm very interested in Minnesota and they are right up there at the top with some other schools I'm looking at."
Minnesota isn't the only visit that Sturges has set in the coming weeks.
"I'll be visiting Colorado on June 5th, Arizona State on June 6th and Arizona on the 7th," Sturges told GopherIllustrated. "Those will all just be visits, as I won't be doing any college camps this summer. I'm looking at making a decision before my season, but I'm not entirely set on that yet."
