Josh LeBlanc talks Gopher offer

Six-foot-7 forward Josh LeBlanc out of Madison Prep in Louisiana recently earned a Minnesota offer. LeBlanc spoke with GI about it today.

“I feel just thankful and blessed to get the offer from the University of Minnesota,” Josh LeBlanc said.   “Coach (Ed) Conroy and I have been talking for a few months and he also recruited me when he was the coach at Tulane.

“I haven't had a chance to talk to much of the staff yet but I’m looking forward to getting to know the rest of the coaches.”

Minnesota joined TCU, Texas A&M, UAB, Georgetown, and the local program LSU who recently had LeBlanc in on a visit.

“(Recruiting) is going good,” Josh told national analysts Evan Daniels this weekend.

“I’m hearing from Georgetown, LSU, Texas A&M, Minneosta, a lot of schools. All of them have offered.”

Through 12 games in the Under Armour Association, Leblanc is averaging 13.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks a game for Louisiana Elite.  Josh also had an outstanding high school season as a junior.

GI talked to Prep Hoops Louisiana writer Chance Lemaire about LeBlanc who had the following to say about the Madison Prep talent who played with Western Kentucky commit Josh Anderson.

“Josh LeBlanc was a beast all season long, and the second best player on the best team in the state. He is capable of being a complete difference maker on both sides of the ball, as he is highly capable of protecting the rim, and can score nearly at will.

“He is becoming more and more comfortable playing at the wing, and I’m sure by next season he will be able to make a complete transition to the small forward position.”
