"I'm crazy excited right now," St. Cloud (Minn.) tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford said to GopherIllustrated Friday night following his Minnesota commitment. "I thought that performed well at coach P.J. Fleck's camp tonight as things went great, and then he pulled me aside afterwards into his office. He told me he liked the way I performed, but also saw a lot of means of improvement in my game recently. He asked me about my process of being a Gopher and he asked if I wanted to be a Gopher, and I immediately jumped on it."
"My mom was really happy that I'm a Gopher now," Spann-Ford explained to Scout.com. "It was great to see her happy after all that. She's done so much for me and I wouldn't be here without her and my family. The Gophers want me as a wide receiver / tight end of sorts that creates mismatches, and I'm really excited about that. Being able to stay home in Minnesota and play for the Gophers is nice as I'm glad to be close to home and playing for coach Fleck. We have a lot of big things in store soon."
Spann-Ford's recruitment is now over with his Gopher commitment.
"This Minnesota commitment means my recruitment is over," Spann-Ford told GopherIllustrated. "I guess the biggest reason I wanted to commit so quickly was my family will be able to see my play, and I wanted to be a part of the new movement in Minnesota. Let's get it Gopher fans!"
