Johnny Sampy led the Yellow Jackets to a 7-3 mark, their most successful season since 1975. He caught 14 passes for 184 yards (13.1 per catch) for three touchdowns, and had four rushes for 80 yards and two more scores. Sampy visited Iowa State Dec. 5 and had visits planned to TCU, Tulsa and Missouri. Sampy missed the 2002 season with a knee injury. Sampy had the ability to play linebacker, tight end or receiver at the collegiate lelvel, but looks to project to linebacker.
His high school teammate Trumaine Johnson committed to LSU.
