The Gopher men's hoops team is still looking for its first Big Ten victory after a 79-78 overtime loss to Michigan State at the Barn on Wednesday night.
Spartans center Paul Davis hit a pair of free throws with 5.2 seconds left in the overtime period for the winning margin. Adam Boone's shot at the buzzer was off the mark and the Gophers fell to 0-6 in the conference.
Kris Humphries led the Gophers with 28 points and eight rebounds, but his foul at the end of regulation set up the Spartans' game-tying three-pointer as time expired.
Minnesota will try to get off the schnide Saturday at Northwestern.
