Flury attended the Gopher football camp this past summer and was at the passing tournament held at the University of Minnesota. The coaches saw the championship game and had requested film on him. They called him on signing day to express their interest in having him walk-on with the team with the hopes of earning a scholarship.
The Air Force Academy contacted Flury February 9th and invited him to Colorado Springs for a visit this past weekend.
Vince Flury and his wife, Dawn, also went out to visit the campus.
"Has he made a decision? ‘No'."
"The visit went really well. Their recruiting coordinator who covers Minnesota will come over tonight."
Vince said that Minnesota is still in the mix.
"He is visiting the "U" Wednesday and will probably not make a decision until next week."
Vince said that the family enjoyed their visit.
"It was extremely impressive. They have beautiful facilities. We checked out the campus, the stadium and facilities."
