Scouting Report: Aaron Hosack

Wide receiver Aaron Hosack is an NFL longshot, but he does have some qualities that could give him a chance as an NFL rookie free agent. Find out what the NFL scouts from TFY Draft Preview think of the former Gopher receiver.

Name: Aaron Hosack School Minnesota Year 4Sr
Ht: 6-3 Wt: 212 40: 4.72 Pos: WR

Bio: Led the team in receiving as a senior, accumulating 51/814/8. Started 11 games as a junior and totaled 29/649/3.

Pos: King-sized receiver with reliable hands and a nice feel for the position. Displays excellent focus, adjusts to the errant throw and extends to make the tough grab in traffic. Easily out-muscles defenders to grab the high ball or makes the difficult catch with opponents draped on him. Sees the field, finds a way to get open and occasionally sneaks in the long reception.

Neg: Lacks the quick release off the line, downfield speed and is a poor route runner.

Analysis: Hosack does not get the respect he deserves because of a poor forty time. A natural pass catcher with a large frame, he could easily add 25-30 pounds and move to a tight end position. Will create mismatches in the defensive backfield and could surprise in a camp next summer
