The Spring Game will be the fans' first chance to see the how Marion Barber III, Laurence Maroney and the Gophers' high-octane running game adapt to the new field turf surface of the Metrodome. They've been practicing on a similar surface at the Bierman complex on campus for a few years, but this will be their first look at their new home turf.
The game will take place on Saturday, April 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m., with tailgating encouraged along Washington Ave.
Following the game, there will be free mini-footballs and interactive games for the kids as well as an autograph session with the players. Fans will also be able to pick up their 2004 Gopher Football yard signs, posters and schedule magnets. The U of M Ticket Office will also be offering 20% off season tickets for new season ticket buyers.
