Former University of Minnesota receiver Aaron Hosack has signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings after playing for the Gophers the past two seasons. Hosack is ranked eighth on the school's career list for receiving yards with 1,463. He is also ranked eighth on the Gophers' all-time list for touchdown receptions with 11.
Hosack, who transferred to Minnesota after playing two seasons (2000-01) at Mount San Antonio (Calif.) Junior College, started all 13 games at wide receiver last season and led the team in receptions with 51. He finished with 814 yards receiving in 2003 and had eight touchdowns, which ranks fifth on the school's single-season list.
Hosack is ranked 12th in school history with 80 career receptions. A big-play threat, Hosack's 22.4-yard average per reception in 2002 is the second-best mark in school history. He is also tied for second in school history for 100-yard receiving games in a season and tied for fifth in career 100-yard games with five, all of which came in 2003.
