Defensive Tackle May End Up a Gopher

Nick Rohrer talks about his recent visit, which schools are recruiting him. The strong defensive tackle, cut in the Chris Zorich mold may end up at Minnesota.

"I visited Purdue unofficially last weekend." Rohrer said. "Brian (Calhoun) and I were supposed to take are official visits that weekend but we decided to move that back till January.

We really had a good time at the game and we hung out with (Purdue wide receiver) Kevin Noel. Kevin is a great guy. We also hung out with a couple of prospects that were on their official visits, Drew Rucks and Devin Hester.

I don't know what's happening with me right now. Iowa and Purdue are recruiting me pretty hard but I have a pretty decent shot at ending up at Minnesota.

Coach (Gordie) Shaw is recruiting me from Minnesota and he's a great guy. Illinois also calls every week. I hope to set up some visits in January."

Rohrer lived up to his pre-season hype as he was named 1st team All-State on both sides of the ball and was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Wisconsin coaches association.
