Ex U recruit Fletcher Terrell finds success in DII

They say that you never know how strong a recruiting class really is until several years down the road. Fletcher Terrell, a 6-foot-0, 175-pound defensive back from St. Louis Park, was considered a top recruit for the Gophers in 2002. However, Terrell never played for the Gophers. Terrell attended Butler (KS) CC as freshman, but did not play. He was an honorable mention Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association selection last season as a a member of Washburn University, a Division II school in Topeka, Kansas.

Terrell led the conference and finished 13th in NCAA Division II with 19 passes defended and 15 pass breakups. He had four interceptions for 190 yards, including returning one 60 yards for a touchdown against Emporia State. Terrell had 47 tackles, including 33 solo stops. He will start at left cornerback for the second straight season.

The Ichabods finished 5-6 last season.
