Iowa's Pipho Talks Recruiting

Matt Pipho, the 56th best prospect in the Midwest, according to TheInsiders.com, has had scholarship offers from Stanford and Iowa State since the beginning of the summer. Now that the 2004 season is in full swing, have other schools stepped up to the plate with offers? Does Pipho have a leader for his services? Take a look.

"Stanford and Iowa State are still my only scholarship offers," Matt Pipho said.

"My favorites are Stanford, Iowa State, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Miami and Notre Dame.

"I've already been to Iowa and Iowa State on unofficial visits and I went to Minnesota last weekend when they played Northwestern."

If all of Pipho's favorites offer him a scholarship, would there be a leader for his services?

"I'm just going to take my official visits and sort things out from there," Pipho said. "I'm in the process of setting up my Iowa State and Stanford visits. I'll visit both of those schools in December."

Pipho, a 6-foot-7, 260-pound offensive tackle is a three-year varsity starter that was named all-district and all-state as a junior.

Pipho's uncle played football and lettered at the University of Iowa. So far in 2004, Union is 3-1.
