Maroon team defeats White, 75-56

The Maroon team defeated the White team 75-56 in the Gophers' men's basketball team first intra-squad scrimmage today at Williams Arena. The Maroon team had five players in double figures, led by Maurice Hargrow with 18 points. The White team led, 23-21, with five minutes left in the first half before Maroon went on a 16-2 run and never relinquished the lead.

Redshirt freshman Dan Coleman had 16 points, all in the first half and grabbed nine rebounds. Freshman Spencer Tollackson added 12 points and senior Brent Lawson and freshman Miles Webb added 11 points each for the Maroon.

The White team was led by junior Vincent Grier with a game-high 26 points. Grier was 11-of-21 from the field, grabbed four boards, dished out three assists and had three steals. Freshman Jordan Nuness added 10 points for the White and freshman Rico Tucker had eight points and five assists. However, Tucker finished with eight turnovers compared to five assists.

The Gophers open exhibition play on Saturday, Nov. 6 vs. St. Thomas at Williams Arena at 1 p.m.
