Dominic Jones Has Committed to Minnesota

Dominic Jones, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound cornerback from Columbus (Ohio) Brookhaven, has committed to Minnesota after visiting the campus this past weekend. Jones received a home visit with Minnesota head coach Glen Mason and made his commitment known after the visit. He and his brother Keith Massey will both play for Minnesota next season.

Dominic Jones had four solo tackles and six assisted tackles to lead the Bearcats to a 42-21 win over Avon Lake in the Division II state championship. He also returned an interception 34 yards, broke up two passes and ran 29 yards on a fake punt. Jones, who runs a 4.31 40-yard dash, committed to Pittsburgh this summer, but decided to visit Minnesota, due to questions about Pittsburgh head coach Walt Harris leaving for another job. Harris eventually took the head coaching job at Stanford.

Jones had nine interceptions this season and was a four-year starter. As a junior, Jones had 11 interceptions and was named DII all-state as well as district player of the year.

Jones visited Minnesota along with teammates Alex Daniels and Keith Massey, his brother. Daniels will visit Oklahoma before making his decision.
