Two University of Minnesota football assistant coaches have been relieved of their duties, head football coach Glen Mason announced today. Defensive line coach Tom Sims and wide receivers coach Richard Wilson have been released from their coaching and staff responsibilities and their contracts will not be renewed.
Sims and Wilson served in their current coaching capacities with the Gopher football team since joining the staff in 2001.
The search to fill both coaching positions will begin immediately.
