The day after defeating No. 11 Boston University 2-1 in the final game at Walter Brown Arena, the No. 1 Gophers hockey team lost a 2-1 decision in the inagural game at BU's Harry Agganis Arena.
The loss was Minnesotas first in seven games. Minnesota had won 14 of their previous 17 games.
Up next? Don Lucia's old team, No. 2 Colorado College at home at Marriuci Arena.
The Jan. 3 polls again have both Minnesota men's and women's hockey teams entrenched in the No. 1 spots. The men have been No. 1 since Nov. 29 and the women's team has been ranked No. 1 since preseason.
