The Howard Pulley Summer League Playoffs Continue

The Howard Pulley Summer League playoffs continues all week with the title game held Thursday night. One more team was eliminated as the playoff field is down to just three teams. The current Minnesota Gophers and newcomers have been busy working on their basketball skills in indivamong the league standouts in regular season and postseason play. The following is a recap of Wednesday night's play as was there to catch the action.

A&A Millwork, last year's defending champs advanced to the title game with a 106-103 victory over Orenstein/Rose. Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Trenton Hassell paced the team with 31 points. Maurice Hargrow, who sat out the past year after transferring back to Minnesota, had 22 points as did former Gopher Randy Carter. Arriel McDonald, another former Gopher, had eight points.

Adam Boone, who sat out last year as a redshirt, paced Orenstein/Rose with 30 points. Former first round pick Troy Bell had 26 points. Jeff Hagen, who led the Big Ten in blocked shots this season for the Gophers, added 20 points.
