Lakeville OT Belal Shouman Gets Midwest Interest

Lakeville (MN) High has won the all-sports championship in Minnesota the past two years. However, as the city has continued to grow, a second high school was built and this year there will be two teams, Lakeville North (the old Lakeville High) and the new school Lakeville South. This will hurt the schools as the top talent was divided between the two schools. However, there is still talent at Lakeville North, as offensive tackle Belal Shouman is getting interest from Minnesota and others.

Belal Shouman, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound offensive tackle, helped lead the Panthers to a 5-5 record last season as a junior starter.

Shouman attended the Minnesota junior day last February and is hearing from Minnesota, North Dakota State, Augustana, Gustavus, Princeton and Minnesota-Mankato.

Shouman suffered a broken bone (his fourth metatarsal) and missed Lakeville North's scrimmage last week. He is hoping to be ready for their season opener Friday evening versus Mounds View and Gopher commitment Adam Weber.

Shouman bench presses 300 pounds and runs a 5.1 40-yard dash.
