Jason Sekinger Will Miss Season with Gophers

Jason Sekinger, a 6-foot-9, 320-pound tackle from Columbus (OH) Westland, was one of the 18 student-athletes who signed national letters of intent in February. Unfortunately, Sekinger is not part of the team this season. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Sekinger's father, Ted, to find the latest on the talented tackle.

Jason Sekinger was selected as a PrepStar All-Midwest Region performer last year. He was named first-team All-Ohio Capital Conference his senior season. He was the lone Westland player to make the first team. Sekinger was also named second-team All Central District.

Sekinger was an excellent student who made the Honor Roll.

He made his official visit to Minnesota in early December.

He attended camps at Kentucky and Ohio State and received recruiting interest from Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia and Akron.

Sekinger's father Ted said that they plan to see a specialist Thursday about his medical condition, which has been reported as asthma.

GoldenSports.net plans to follow up with the Sekinger family to find the latest on him.
