Limar Wilson Commits to Minnesota

Limar Wilson, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound guard from Northeast (NE) CC, has committed to Minnesota after visiting the campus this past weekend, according to a source close to the program. Wilson is considered one of the top JC playmakers in the country and will give the Gophers some needed backcourt depth with the graduation of Vincent Grier, Adam Boone and Maurice Hargrow.

Limar Wilson averaged 10.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game as the Hawks finished 18-13 last season. Wilson shot 57.3% from the field and 75.6% from the line and 45.4% (10 of 22) from three-point range. He had an impressive 91 assists to 35 turnovers ratio and had 24 steals and five blocked shots in 17 contests.

Wilson was sidelined with injuries, which caused him to miss 14 contests, including a game against JUCO power Indian Hills (IA) CC in December, which I attended.

Wilson had planned to visit Southern Mississippi Sept. 2. However, due to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the trip was canceled.

Louisville was expected to visit Northeast to check out Wilson, but he decided to pull the trigger and commit to the Gophers.
