Roosevelt RB Alex Hearn Gains Recruiting Interest

Alex Hearn, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back from Minneapolis (MN) Roosevelt, is one of the state's top rushers. Hearn scored four touchdowns in the Teddies' 41-20 win over Minneapolis (MN) North Friday and finished with 31 carries for 202 yards. He attended the Minnesota-Purdue game Saturday and recently caught up with the talented runinng back to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Alex Hearn scored on runs of 31, 11 and 34 yards, and scored on two two-point conversions in their win over North.

Hearn has rushed 77 times for 529 yards this season. He has scored eight touchdowns and has three two-point conversions this season.

Hearn is also a standout on the defensive side of the field. He has 48 tackles in four games for the 3-1 Teddies. Hearn also has one interception, which he returned for a 46-yard touchdown, and a blocked field goal.

Hearn rushed for 16 times for 149 yards in their 19-12 season-opening win over Minneapolis Southwest. He rushed 21 times for 118 yards in the Teddies' 20-0 victory over Minneapolis Edison.

Hearn was held to just nine carries for 60 yards in their 44-15 loss to International Falls.

Hearn rushed 213 times for 1,016 yards (4.8 yards per carry) with nine touchdowns as a junior as he led the Teddies to a 3-6 mark last year. He was named honorable mention Associated Press all-State.

Hearn said that he is hearing from Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Iowa, Wisconsin, St. Cloud State and Winona.

Hearn said the Gopher-Purdue game was his first college game of the season. However, he plans to go to games at St. Cloud State, Winona and Northern Iowa in the near future.

Hearn, who runs a 4.6 40-yard dash, plans to play basketball for Roosevelt this year after not playing last season.
