Michael Thornton Gets Midwest Interest

Michael Thornton, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive tackle from Burnsville (MN) High, attended the Minnesota-Ohio State game this past weekend. It was the second contest that the Blaze standout has attended this year. Thornton helped lead the Blaze to a 5-4 mark. They were upset in the Section 2 first round playoff by Edina. Thornton has gotten interest from several Midwest schools.

Michael Thornton said that he is hearing from Iowa State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Northern Iowa. He said that he might be forced to go the junior college route and he said that he is hearing from North Dakota School of Science (ND) CC.

Thronton benefitted this season from the coaching of former Minnesota Viking lineman David Dixon, who served as a volunteer coach this season. Thornton served as one of the team's captains this season.

Thornton attended the Minnesota-Colorado State game earlier this season and plans to attend the Iowa State-Kansas State contest this year.
