Matt Slater Gets Midwest Interest

Matt Slater, a 6-foot-6, 245-pound offensive tackle from St. Paul (MN) Cretin Derham Hall, has helped lead the Raiders to an 8-2 record and a state quarterfinal berth versus Anoka Friday. Slater has attended several Minnesota games and has made trips to Indiana and Northwestern this season. Matt Slater has received a scholarship offer from Indiana and Division II offers from Winona State and Minnesota Mankato. He attended the Indiana-Kentucky game and the Northwestern-Wisconsin contest and has been at several Gopher games this season, including their most recent home game versus Ohio State. Slater plans to attend the Michigan State game this weekend and might go to the Iowa-Minnesota game the following week.

Slater also plays lacrosse. He is a two-year starter for the Raiders, who have won four straight games.

Slater helped lead the Raiders to 8-4 mark last season as they advanced to state quarterfinals, where they lost to Class 5A eventual runner-up Wayzata 34-27.
