Farmington's Trey Davis Gets Gopher Interest

Trey Davis, a 6-foot-2, 260-pound offensive lineman from Farmington (MN) High, was honored this past Sunday as a member of the Minnesota Vikings All-State team. He and the other 29 members had their names announced at halftime of the Vikings-Rams game. Davis attended the Minnesota-Michigan State game earlier this season. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Davis to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Trey Davis led Farmington to a 10-1 mark as a junior, losing to Eastview in Class 5A Section I championship game. The Tigers led the Metro area with an impressive 343 rushing yards per game.

Davis was named first-team All-Metro by Kare-11 TV and the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He was selected first-team by the Associated Press and the Minnesota Vikings and was second-team All-State by the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Davis also throws the shot put and discus for the Farmington track and field team. He finished sixth in the state meet with a shot toss of 54 feet and 1/2 inches. Davis did not make state in the discus, but did have a season-best throw of 153-11.

Davis said that he expects to attend the Minnesota Gopher football camp this summer. He has not heard from any Division I schools except for Minnesota, but that will likely change after his strong junior campaign.
