The University of Minnesota Golden Gopher football program announced today that Daron Love from William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Gophers next season.
Love, a 6-1, 185-pound defensive back and wide receiver, helped lead his high school team to a 10-1 record this past year and into the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs. He caught 15 passes for 184 yards (12.3 average) and rushed three times for 76 yards and one touchdown despite missing several games with an injury. Love was an honorable-mention selection on the Palm Beach Post's Class 4A-6A (big schools) All-Area team.
Love was ranked as the 66th best prospect in the state of Florida by Scout.com entering the 2005 season.
