Vincent Grier Fails to Land Orlando Invite

Guard Vincent Grier of Minnesota has failed to land an invitation to the Orlando pre-draft camp that starts Tuesday. He was hoping to be one of 64 players trying to impress the NBA and European scouts in attendance. Grier had played in the Portsmouth Invitational in April, where he led his team, Holiday Inn Portsmouth, to the championship.

Vincent Grier averaged 15.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last season for the Gophers. He had hoped for a strong senior season to secure his chances of being selected in the June 28th NBA Draft. However, his numbers dropped from his junior season, when he was college Basketball News' Big Ten Newcomer of the Year and NBA scouts questioned his outside shooting ability.

Grier is represented by one-time Gopher basketball player Bill Duffy and has been working on his game at Hoops the Gym in Chicago.
