Ex-Gopher Kris Humphries Dealt to Toronto

Kris Humphries, who led the Big Ten in scoring and rebounding as a freshman before turning pro, has been traded from Utah to Toronto along with 2005 draft pick Robert Whaley for former Brigham Young center Rafael Araujo and cash.

Kris Humphries, who was the 14th pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, averaged 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 129 games.

Araujo, who was the eighth pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, averaged just 2.9 points and three rebounds in 111 NBA games. His controversial selection helped lead to the ouster of GM Rob Babock, who was hired from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Humphries was exepcted to receive immediate playing time for the Jazz when he was picked with the 14th pick. However, Utah signed free agent big men Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur later during the offseason and Humphries rarely got off the bench.
