Travis Busch Will Transfer to Minnesota

Travis Busch, a 6-foot-4, 210 pound forward/guard, will transfer from Minnesota after playing as a freshman at Cal Poly. Busch played in four games, starting in one, and averaged 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in four games and averaged 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game for the Mustangs. Unfortunately, his season was cut short by a stress fracture in his left foot.

Travis Busch was named Minnesota "Mr. Basketball" as a senior. He was also chosen Minneapolis Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year and Gatorade Minnesota Player of the Year and led his team to a third-place finish in the state tournament. Busch finished his career as the all-time leading scorer at Mounds View. He was named Associated Press All-State First Team as he averaged over 25 points per game as a senior. Busch averaged 19.8 points as a junior and 14.7 as a sophomore.

He will receive a medical redshirt and will sit out the upcoming season. He will have four years of eligibility remaining. Busch will walk-on with the Gophers, with the hopes of earning a scholarship.
