Two Minnesota Teams Advance in AAU Nationals

Two Minnesota teams advanced in the AAU Nationals playoffs in Orlando, Fla. The Minnesota Magic Elite defeated the Barton Ballas (Florida) 86-58 to advance to face the Georgia Blazers, the winner of Pool Y, which bested Team Supreme Kings 65-52 at 1:00 Sunday. The Minnesota Magic Elite are currently 3-1.

Blake Hoffarber scored 21 points in the win over the Georgia Blazers, Eric Carlson added 13 and recent addition Alex Healy of White Beat Lake had 12.

The Minnesota Magic Gold defeated the Alabama Challenge, the winner of Pool M 64-63 as Marcus Brumm hit a three-pointer at the buzzer. They bested Metro Boston/Lena Park, which defeated the Cincy Shining Stars 63-47 at 11:30 Sunday morning to improve to 4-1.

The Minneapolis Iceman lost to the Balto Stars 59-57 in the Classic bracket to finish 1-3.

The Minnesota Glory lost to the Connecticut Gold in the Classic bracket to finish 1-3.
