Ryan Collado Commits to Minnesota

Ryan Collado, a 5-foot-9, 164-pound cornerback from Cincinnati (OH) Hills Christian Academy, has become the latest Gopher football commitment, according to sources close to his recruitment. Collado helped lead Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy to a 14-1 mark last season as they finished as Division V state runner-ups, losing to Hamler Patrick Henry 42-30 in the title game.

Ryan Collado, the latest Minnesota football commitment, scored on a 27-yard touchdown pass and had a 6-yard touchdown run in the state championship game. He finished with nine carries for 51 yards and seven receptions for 75 yards. He had one interception for eight yards and had two unassisted tackles and one assist.

Collado was named MVP of the Miami Valley Conference and was a first-team Southwest Ohio All-District first team selection as a running back. He finished with 946 rushing and 901 yards in receptions. He had 68 tackles and five interceptions. Collado will carry more of the offensive load as the team graduates quarterback Doug Browne, who was the Southwest Ohio All-District Offensive Player of the Year.

Collado rushed 31 times for 206 yards (6.6 yards per carry) as a sophomore and four touchdown rushes. He also caught 25 passes for 402 yards with four reception scores.

Collado is also a standout track and field performer. He has 4.4 40-yard speed and ran a 11.67 100-meters dash and 24.10 200-yard dash. His 4x100 relay squad advanced to the Ohio Division III OHSAA state championships at Ohio State. They finished fourth in the heat.
