Illinois RB Robert Hughes to Visit Minnesota

Scout.com's No. 17 rated running back Robert Hughes of Chicago (IL) Hubbard will visit Minnesota December 15th. Hughes, a 5-foot-11, 227 pounder, finished with 32 carries for 190 yards while nursing a sore foot in their 28-20 Class 6A overtime win over Fenwick on Saturday night. Hubbard (8-2), a sixth seed will face #3 Geneva (9-1).

Robert Hughes has been named to the the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Hughes is a four-year varsity starter for the Greyhounds in 2006. Hughes rushed for 1,000 yards as a freshman and was named all-conference. As a sophomore, Hughes rushed for 1,034 yards and received all-area honors. In 2005, Robert rushed for 1,920 yards and was named all-state and all-area by several media outlets in the Chicago area. Hughes is a "Top 10" prospect in the Land of Lincoln. Hughes bench presses 420, squats 520 and cleans 185x10.

Hughes has rushed 129 times for 1,147 yards with 15 touchdowns.

Hughes will visit Ohio State Decmeber 1st and Notre Dame December 8th. He reports a 2.5 core GPA and has a 17 ACT score. .
