"I committed to Minnesota this summer," said offensive lineman Jeff Sundsmo. "It's (Minnesota) close to home and I just felt comfortable with the coaching staff.
"I know a lot of the guys on the team and I know the campus well because my dad works for the university."
Sundsmo, a 6-foot-7, 276-pound, offensive tackle from St. Paul (MN) Highland Park will be a two-year varsity starter in 2002.
Sundsmo also plays defensive end but projects as an offensive lineman at the next level. He also letters in basketball and track.
Minnesota was the only school that had offered Sundsmo at the time of his verbal commitment.
He carries a 3.4 GPA in the classroom and scored 19 on his ACT.
