Minnesota Wrestlers Gain Team Lead at NCAAs

Minnesota reclaimed the team lead at the NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Palace in Auburn Hills, Mich. The Gophers currently have 92 points compared to 84.5 for Iowa State, while Missouri was in third with 76 points. Oklahoma State is fourth with 69 points and is trying to hold off Northwestern, which is currently fifth with 67.5 points.

Defending NCAA Champion Cole Konrad advanced to the finals for the third straight year, but top-ranked Dustin Schlatter and second-ranked Roger Kish were upset in the semifinals at the NCAA Championships at the Palace Friday.

Iowa State sent three Cyclones into the finala and held the team lead going into Saturday's action with 83.5 points. Minnesota, with one finalist and four more still in contention for third place, was in second with 80.0 points. The Cyclones also have one wrestler alive in the consolation bracket which will set up a two-team race to the title on Saturday.
