Ryan Grant Commits to Minnesota

Ryan Grant, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound quarterback/safety/linebacker from Eden Prairie (MN) High, has committed to Minnesota. He is the fifth in-state product to commit to head coach Tim Brewster. Grant, the son of Eden Prairie head coach Mike and grandson of former Minnesota Vikings head coach Bud, led the Eagles to a 14-0 mark and a Class 5A state title as a junior.

Ryan Grant was offered a scholarship from Minnesota after visiting the campus on Junior Day in February. Grant completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,431 yards and 22 touchdowns as the Eagles outscored their opponents 546-113.

Grant averaged 9.2 points per game for the 17-9 Eagles basketball team.

Grant was also hearing from Northwestern, Wisconsin, Iowa and Iowa State. He was joined at Junior Day by Eden Prairie teammates Willie Mobley and Carter Bykowski, who the Gophers are also recruiting.
