Anthony Tucker Hopes to Add to Three Offers

Anthony Tucker, a 6-foot-4 junior shooting guard from Minnetonka (MN) High, has attracted the attention of several top programs, including Minnesota. Tucker led the Skippers to an 18-10 mark this season as they advanced to the finals of Section 2, Class AAAA. GoldenSports.Net recently caught up with Tucker to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Anthony Tucker, who is one of the top players in the state for the Class of 2008, was named second-team All-State by the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Tucker told GoldenSports.Net that he has three current offers.

"I have offers from Utah State, Western Michigan and Wisconsin-Green Bay. Other schools I'm hearing the most from are Virginia, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Florida and Stanford."

Minnesota offered him a scholarship last year, only to rescind the offer the next day. New Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith and his staff will likely watch Tucker play for 43 Hoops this spring and summer.

"We are playing in most of the same events this year, plus we are going to Kansas and Vegas twice, once in April and once in July," Tucker said.

Tucker was the leading scorer for 43 Hoops, which won the 16-and-under title at the Hoosier Shootout in July.

Minnetonka figures to be one of the top teams in the state as they will also return fellow three-year players C.J. Erickson and Andy Burns, along with fellow juniors Andrew Latzke and Tyler Schilling.
