Cody Larson Gets Early Gopher Interest

Cody Larson, a 6-foot-7 freshman forward from Sioux Falls (SD) Roosevelt, played for the Dakota Schoolers in the recent Sabes Foundation Invitational Tournament last weekend at Bloomington Jefferson. Larson, who is considered one of the top players in the Midwest in the Class of 2010, has already received interest from several schools, including Minnesota.

Cody Larson helped lead Sioux Falls (SD) Roosevelt to a 16-7 mark this past season. They lost to Yankton 53-47 in the regionals.

Larson told GoldenSports.Net that he is hearing from Iowa State, Minnesota and South Dakota State. That list will likely continue to expand as he is seen by more coaches this spring and summer. Larson attended the Florida Elite camp last summer. The Gators have a tie to the South Dakota area as they signed Mike Miller several years ago.

Larson led the Dakota Schoolers to the quarterfinals in the Sabes Foundation Invitational Tournament.

Larson is forced to play center for the Schoolers, but will move to the forward spot at the college level.

Larson said that Roosevelt should be even better next season as they return "almost everyone." They will welcome back Dakota Schooler teammate Adol Aluong, a 6-foot fresham guard.

Larson and his AAU teammates will play in the Dakota Schoolers Summer Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota June 8-10.
