Carrington Tankson draws interest

Carrington Tankson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Osseo (MN) High, has shined for the Howard Pulley Panthers this weekend in the Memorial Day Classic in Nashville, averaging 21.5 points per game. Tankson averaged 17.3 points per game for Osseo as he led the Orioles to a 22-7 mark. Rene Pulley told GoldenSports.Net that two of the top JC programs in the country have expressed interest in Tankson.

Carrington Tankson scored a game-high 20 points in Howard Pulley's 84-77 win over Houston Hoops Saturday morning.

Tankson had a game-high 23 points in their 69-67 loss to the New York Gauchos Saturday afternoon.

Tankson has carried more of a scoring load this weekend as Howard Pulley is without Armond Battle and Jerome Vaughn.

Pulley faces the Georgia Blazers Sunday in their final pool play contest.

Tankson scored in double figures in 25 of 29 games this season. He played very well down the stretch as he averaged 19.9 points in the final 16 games. Tankson scored 20 or more points in eight contests and had two games of 30 or more points.

Tankson had 31 points against Champlain Park, including six three-pointers. He scored 30 points in a win over Maple Grove as he sank six three-pointers

Tankson is hearing from JC powers Indian Hills (IA) CC and San Jacinto (TX) CC, according to Rene Pulley. His recruitment could expand after his strong play and Nashville and if he can get a qualifying test score.

Tankson will likely carry more of the scoring load next year as they graduate Xavier Reed, who signed with Cal State Northridge. Reed averaged 15.2 points per game this past season.

The Orioles will also return seven-foot center Zach Peterson, who averaged 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
