WI SO Jeronne Maymon Gets Recruiting Interest

Jeronne Maymon, a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward from Madison (WI) Memorial, is one of the top players in the Midwest. Maymon helped lead Memorial to a fourth straight state championship appearance as they finished 21-3, losing to Milwaukee Vincent 49-46 in overtime in the Division I quarterfinals. Maymon shined for the Madison Spartans AAU team, leading them to the 16-and-under title.

Jeronne Maymon averaged a team-high 16.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He is expected to take more of a leadership role as they will lose Wisconsin signee Keaton Nankivil, who averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. Maymon's older brother Devonte is a junior on the team.

Maymon shined for the Madison Spartans AAU team at the recent Sabes Foundation Invitational Tournament, scoring 26 points in the 16-and-under championship game against All-Iowa Attack. He was named GoldenSports.Net MVP of that division.

Maymon told GoldenSports.Net that he has offers from Clemson, Wisconsin Green Bay and Baylor and is hearing from schools such as Florida, Wisconsin, Missouri and Minnesota.

Madison Memorial is 45-5 the past two seasons and 94-8 in the last four years, winning a state title in 2005 and finishing runner-up in 2004 and 2006. They will face Minntonka in the Border Battle at Verona High School on January 26th.
