GoldenSports.Net caught up with Covington to learn the latest.

Shane Covington told GoldenSports.Net that he has a busy week planned.

"After the Minnesota camp, I'll be going to Michigan Tuesday, Michigan State Thursday and Wisconsin the following Monday. I have already been to Illinois for their camp.

Covington is also hearing from UNLV, Califorina, UCLA, Colorado and Hawaii and has offers from Kansas State, Ball State and Illinois.

Covington attended the All-American Combine in Cincinnati in April.

Riverside finished 11-2 last season, losing to Arrowhead 24-20 in the state semifinals.

Covington said that the team lost plenty of experienced players.

"We lost a lot of seniors. We are going to be running the ball a lot or I might play quarterback," he said. "We have a sophomore quarterback who has been stepping up lately."

Covington said that he runs a 4.51 40-yard dash. He played quarterback as a sophomore at Bradley Tech.
