The Minnesota Magic AAU basketball team is off to a 3-0 start in the Dakota Showcase after beating IAATK Elite 69-59, Alegent Crusaders II 92-72 and IBCA Iowa Select I 73-57. The Minnesota Magic has five prospects that have received interest from the Gophers. However, all five are getting looks from the football team.

Standout wide receiver Michael Floyd from Cretin Derham Hall, who was named second-team All-Metro by the Star Tribune in basketball, scored 24, 25 and 21 points in his three games and is the Dakota Showcase's leading scorer with 23.3 points per game. Floyd recently narrowed his list of schools to Minnesota, Notre Dame, Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Florida and Michigan.

Cretin Derham Hall teammate John Nance, who committed to Minnesota, scored 15, five and 22 points and is averaging 14 points per game.
