Two Pulley Panthers Get Lebron James Invite

Rising junior Rodney Williams Jr., a 6-foot-6, rising junior forward from Robbinsdale (MN) Cooper and Jared Berggren, a 6-foot-10 senior-to-be center from Princeton (MN) High, will attended the LeBron James US Skills Academy in Akron, Ohio July 6-9, according to Howard Pulley founder Rene Pulley. GoldenSports.Net will attend the camp and provide the latest on the two Minnesota standouts.

Rodney Williams Jr. averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 blocked shots and 2.3 assists per game as he led the Hawks to a 21-7 record this season.

Williams has scholarship offers from Minnesota, Miami of Florida, Bradley, Iowa, Purdue and Iowa State in April and told GoldenSports.Net recently that he is also hearing from Notre Dame, Creighton, Kansas, Wisconsin, Northern Iowa, North Dakota State and Western Michigan.

Jared Berggren, a 6-foot-10 junior center from Princeton (MN) High, committed to Wisconsin in Janaury. Berggren was named second-team All-Metro by GoldenSports.Net and led the Tigers to a 17-9 mark. He averaged 21.2 points, 11.9 rebounds and 5.6 blocked shots per game.

Berggren scored in double figures in 25 of 26 games this season. He scored 20 or more points in 17 games, including a season-high 36 points versus Zimmerman. Berggren scored 20 or more points in his last six games of the year. He had 19 double-digit rebounding games, including the final seven contests of the year. Unfortunately, his season was cut short when they were upset by Big Lake, 71-61, in the first round of the playoffs.
