Crookston OT Andrew Anderson Gets Interest

Andrew Anderson, a 6-foot-8, 280-pound lineman from Crookston (MN) High, attended Saturday's Minnesota-North Dakota State game. Anderson is getting recruiting interest from both teams. Anderson has led the Pirates to a 4-4 regular season and they will face Park Rapids in the playoffs Tuesday. GoldenSports.Net caught up with Anderson to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Andrew Anderson is a two-sports athlete for Crookston. He plays on both sides of the field on the football team. Anderson is playing right tackle this year after playing on the left side last season. He also plays defensive tackle.

Anderson told GoldenSports.Net that he is hearing from Minnesota, North Dakota State, Wisconsin and Northern Iowa. He has gotten Division II interest North Dakota, who has indicated a scholarship offer is in the mix, St. Cloud and South Dakota State.

Anderson averaged 4.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game last season as the Crookston basketball team finished 4-22, losing 64-48 to Red Lake in the first round of the Section 8AA playoffs. He expects improvement from the team as they return four of five starters.

Anderson attended the North Dakota State-Cal Davis game earlier this season and said that he plans to go to the NDSU-South Dakota State contest and the North Dakota-St. Cloud State game later this year.

Anderson is an excellent student who competed on the school's team for the Northwest Service Cooperative's Knowledge Bowl, finishing second among 27 schools.
