Chicago WR Brandon Green Commits to Minnesota

Brandon Green, a 6-foot, 185-pound three-star wide receiver from Chicago (IL) Robeson, has committed to Minnesota after visiting the campus this weekend, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Green already has 22 touchdowns through his first seven contests despite missing the season opener. Robeson is currently 8-1.

Brandon Green has 43 catches for 854 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first 17 games. He has rushed 10 times for 119 yards and three rushing scores and has completed 3 of 11 passes for 63 yards and two touchdown strikes.

Green has returned 17 punts for 269 yards.

Green had planned to attend the Minnesota-Ohio State game September 29th, but the Raiders had a game that day. Robeson played on Thursday this week, which allowed him to make the visit.

Green attended the Minnesota Gopher football camp this summer and told recently that he came away impressed by the coaching staff.

"I like the coaches at Minnesota," he said. "They are all really nice and they are an up-and-coming program. They are losing a wide receiver so there will be a spot open and I'd be able to fill it and play early - possibly as a freshman."

Green has a 2.7 core GPA.
