Devoe Joseph to Visit Minnesota This Weekend

Devoe Joseph, a 6-foot-3 guard from Ajax (ON) Pickering, will visit Minnesota this weekend. Joseph just received a passing college enterance test score, which will allow him to make an official visit. He had planned to visit Kansas last weekend, but had to cancel his visit, due to a lack of a score.

Devoe Joseph shined this spring and summer as a member of Grassroots Canada AAU program, helping them to the title at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. He also shined this summer, playing for the Canadian national team.

Joseph is considering Kansas, Minnesota, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt.

Joseph has a younger brother, Corey, a sophomore guard, who is already getting recruiting interest from several schools.

Grassroots Canada head coach Bo Russell recently told Scout.com that playing time and the chance to win will be very important.

"Opportunity to play right away and the development of the program in terms of him getting stronger and being a better player is important," said Russell. "Also very important is a winning program and a team that plays in the national tournament and has chance to play for the national championship. Devoe is used to playing for a winner and wants to do so in college too."

Russell said that Joseph has worked hard to become much more of a point guard and expects that he'll play the point on the next level.

"He's a very intelligent payer who can really shoot," said Russell. "He's really developed his ball handling skills since the summer so he can get around guys and make plays for others as well.

"It's a very close battle right now between Kansas, Minnesota and Vanderbilt. Very close," said Russell. "Virginia Tech is there too, but they are kind of behind those other three."
