Big Ten Network to Show Gopher-Badger Game

The Big Ten Conference announced Saturday night that the 117th meeting between Minnesota and Wisconsin scheduled to be played on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Metrodome will be televised nationally by the Big Ten Network and kickoff at 2:30 p.m.

The game will mark the eighth appearance of the season on the Big Ten Network for the Gophers, and the fifth time this season that a Minnesota home game has been televised by the BTN.

The Minnesota vs. Wisconsin rivalry is the most-played series in the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A). The Gophers lead the all-time ledger, 59-49, with eight ties, and will be out to snap a three-game losing streak vs. the Badgers. Minnesota's last win in the series was a 37-34 victory at the Metrodome in 2003.

The Gophers and Badgers will also be dueling for Paul Bunyan's Axe Saturday at the Metrodome. Paul Bunyan's Axe has been the symbol of the Minnesota vs. Wisconsin series since 1948, when the Wisconsin W Club instituted the trophy to commemorate the grand rivalry between the two schools. Through the years, Wisconsin has won the axe 33 times, while the Gophers have won it 23 times. There have also been three ties.
